 | Okay so yeah. I made the mistake of playing this game on Hard. I'm streaming it so I can't restart, but the Hard difficulty is killing me in this game, and from what I found it's infamously so. But since I can't restart, and you can't change difficulty from Hard - I thought I was stuck. submitted by enbyss_ to yakuzagames [link] [comments] Out of frustration, I started looking into things. My idea was to start an Easy save file on Chapter 1, and compare it to my Hard save file on Chapter 1 - and compare the two in a hex editor. The two differences were the game time duration - and the difficulty itself. The highlighted part shows the difficulty setting. First thing you'll need a hex editor. I use HxD, since it's free and it works. You'll also need to find your save files. On my end they were at this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\309773136\1088710\remote It should be the same for you, hopefully. Here you'll find a lot of files named savegame1.sav, savegame2.sav, etc. These correspond to saves in the game - so on the load screen when you see 01, that refers to savegame1, 02 = savegame2, etc. Open up the save file that corresponds to your latest save in HxD. In most cases this is the savefile with the highest number, since that's the most recent one - unless you have overwritten a save. I attached the image above which should show something similar to what you should see. The highlighted bytes - at 04-05 on the 00000010 offset - correspond to the difficulty. 00 00 = Easy 02 02 = Hard I haven't tested Medium, but I'm assuming 01 01 would be Medium. All you need to do is change those two bits to 00 00. The program should backup your file upon saving, but feel free to backup the savefile yourself as well - by just copying and pasting it. All you need to do now is open up the game, pick that save, and check to see if the difficulty is Easy now. Hopefully this works for you! If this is too complicated, feel free to drop a question.
